When this arrived, it was different than I thought. I was expecting the shades to be circular. Instead, they are rectangles with curved edges. If you take a closer look at the picture you can tell this.

The build quality on this unit is not amazing. The threads around the bulb base that hold the shade on are ceramic and can break. Especially since the associated fastener easily gets stuck on the ceramic. The shades themselves were not perfectly even on my unit and paint job on one of them had a slight splatter pattern.

Aside from the build quality and my oversight on the shade shape, the unit is great. You have to remember that most pendants fixtures that are similar sell for $200-600. Also, they often require halogen bulbs and have exposed wires. This unit has a beautiful satin nickel metal tube that attaches it to the ceiling and accepts normal bulbs or CFLs. The entire metal portion looks modern and elegant. It comes with three sections of tubing so it can accommodate 8-9 feet ceilings as a pendant. (If you have 10 feet or higher ceilings, this will not work properly as a pendant unless you can get another tube.)

The shades themselves look great. They look fairly modern and aside from the slight unevenness on the bottoms of the shades I am very happy with them. They have a reflective white coating on the inside that reflects most of the light downwards. However, there is still a nice glow on the outside that helps to provide general illumination. As a pendant, I would recommend putting a 25 - 40 watt bulb in this fixture. I tested this with a 60 watt bulb and the light coming out the side was too bright for a pendant.

If you happen to not like the shades, the fixture itself will support other shades. If you go to Lowes or Home Depot, they have many varieties you can choose from. This fixture comes with an adaptor ring that will adapt the threads to work with different sizes of shades. I tried fitting in a standard cone style shade and the fixture still worked very well with it.

Overall, I am very happy with this and would happily purchase it again. This is a great 2-light pendant solution for a great price.

The shades themselves were more even than I first thought. They were just slightly tilted and could be adjusted slightly by lightly tilting the metal just above the shade. After adjustment, they look much better and I am very happy with the unit.

I love the light fixture my only complaint is that I thought I would be receiving the chain that is in the picture. It works fine flush against the ceiling but I thought it would hang over the kitchen table versus being flush against the ceiling.

This lighting fixture looks nice and has a great quality but it was a bit too big for the room we wanted it, so we had to return it.
